A shared language for airport displays.

Plain definitions, so your operations staff, IT team and vendors all mean the same thing.

Core systems

FIDS: the arrivals and departures boards in the terminal. GIDS: the screen at each gate. BIDS: the baggage claim screens. RIDS: the screens facing the ramp, for ground crews.

What is an operational override?

A change your own staff make, such as a new gate or baggage claim. It takes the place of the automatic flight data for that flight, so passengers see what your team knows.

Does one layout fit every screen?

No. Landscape and portrait screens show the same flight information, each laid out to be easy to read from where passengers stand.

What happens if a provider is interrupted?

Your screens keep showing the last flights they received, with a clear notice that they’re reconnecting. They never make information up, and they catch up on their own when the connection returns.
