Questions airports ask

Straight answers about screens, flight data, support and pricing. If yours isn't here, ask us in a demo.

Screens and setup

Do we need new screens or Summit hardware?

No. Summit works with the screens you have, connected to a computer or media player with an up-to-date Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser. A quick screen check tells you whether a device is ready. There is no Summit hardware or server at the airport, and your screens, players, cabling and network stay with your airport.

Is anything installed on our network?

Nothing is installed at the airport. Each screen opens Summit in its web browser over a standard secure web connection, and your staff use Summit from any browser.

How long does it take to go live?

Set up in days, live in weeks, on your schedule. After signing we send a short intake form and hold a kickoff call, then set up your airport, flight data and first administrator remotely. Your team connects each screen with a one-time code, we check every screen and train your staff together, and we watch your screens on go-live day. There is no site visit.

Can we use landscape and portrait screens?

Yes. Arrivals and departures boards work on landscape or portrait screens, and you choose what each screen shows: a board, a gate or a baggage claim.

Flight information

What happens if flight data or our internet connection stops?

Screens keep showing the last flights they received and say that they are reconnecting, then recover on their own when the connection returns. Summit watches flight data and your screens around the clock and alerts our team when something stops.

Who can make changes, and do they need training?

Your own staff make changes from any browser, each with their own sign-in. Remote training for your team is included, and refresher help is part of Summit Standard Support.

Support

What support is included?

Summit Standard Support comes with every subscription. Urgent issues get a first response within 1 hour, 24/7. High-priority issues get a response within 4 business hours, and questions and minor issues within 1 business day.

What counts as urgent, and how do we reach someone at night?

Urgent means your displays are down, or a critical function can't be used, and there is no workaround. Raise an Urgent ticket in the Summit portal at any hour. Summit checks it straight away, and if it's urgent, our On-Call Engineer is alerted within minutes, day or night, and responds within 1 hour. If it doesn't meet that definition, we'll tell you why and set the right priority, and you can still raise it to Urgent if you disagree.

Does AI answer our support tickets?

Summit Support Assistant, an AI that works for Summit, answers most tickets within minutes, day or night, using Summit's own help material. Every reply it writes is labeled as AI. Anything it can't settle, such as a fault, billing or a change only Summit can make, goes to a member of the Summit Support team, and you can ask for a person at any time. Urgent issues always reach a person.

Pricing and contracts

How is Summit priced?

Summit is an annual subscription priced by your number of passenger gates, with unlimited displays within your airport. Prices are fixed for the five-year initial term. We quote your airport's price in the demo, once we know your gates and the options you want.

What is included, and what is optional?

Every subscription includes flight data, setup, remote training and Summit Standard Support, along with Live Flights, FIDS, GIDS, BIDS and Performance Flights – Daily View. Gate Boarding, RIDS, Integrations – API + MCP and Historical Performance Reporting are optional.

How do you handle security?

We walk your IT team through our security approach in the demo and share our Security Overview on request. Each airport sees only its own information.
