Gate information display software for regional airports
Summit GIDS puts the right flight on every gate screen automatically: the airline, flight number, destination, departure time and status, with a photo of the destination city and its current weather. With Gate Boarding, your agents call each boarding group from the portal and the gate screen follows.
Questions airports ask about GIDS
What is a GIDS?
A gate information display system (GIDS) is the screen at each gate that tells passengers which flight is departing from it and when. Summit GIDS shows the upcoming departure for that gate and moves on to the next flight when the time comes.
What happens when a flight changes gates?
Change the gate in Live Flights, or let the flight data update it, and the flight moves to the new gate's screen within seconds. Nobody needs to visit the screens.
Can gate agents show boarding groups?
Yes, with Gate Boarding. Agents start an airline's boarding sequence and advance it step by step, and passengers see each group on the gate screen as it is called.
Does it show the weather at the destination?
Yes, for U.S. destinations: a photo of the destination city and its current weather, so passengers know what to expect when they land.
